An attorney with a long history of complex case litigation, Douglas Edward Herman holds a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Pittsburgh and a juris doctor from the Widener University School of Law. He graduated from both of these Pennsylvania-based universities with honors. While in law school, Douglas Edward Herman became an academic merit scholar and contributed to/edited The Widener Journal of Public Law.
Douglas Herman began his career as an attorney in Pennsylvania, spending 3 years with Caldwell and Kearns, in Harrisburg, followed by 4 years with Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman, and Goggin, in Philadelphia. He subsequently relocated to Savannah, GA, where he spent a decade as a defense litigator and eventual partner with Oliver Maner, LLP.
Since 2018, he has served as the Chief Legal Officer and Director of Litigation for the Hostilo Law Firm. In this position, he is responsible for supervising a team of attorneys and support staff and assisting with firm management and operations. Over the last 6 years, the Firm’s attorneys have generated approximately $450 million in recoveries for the their injured clients.
